There will be 97.4 crore internet users in India by 2025

According to Mukund, a writer associated with Hindusthan Samachar, the big fact is that by the year 2020, the number of Internet users in India had reached 70 crores. It is expected to touch the figure of 97.4 crores by the year 2025. If seen from this perspective, India is at second place in the world after China. This revolution has not only changed the social, economic and political scenario but the crime world has made a dent in it. Today every country in the world is trying to save its citizens from their trap. In this, the Home Ministry of India is making every effort at its level.

Creating a cyber secure India is the top priority of the Home Ministry.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah says that building a cyber secure India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a top priority of the Home Ministry. The Home Ministry is committed to prevent cyber crime and protect people from cyber threats. Citizens should help by reporting the phone numbers and social media handles of such fraudsters on www.cybercrime.gov.in.

More than 100 websites were identified and banned.

Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) is a major initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs to tackle cyber crime in a coordinated and comprehensive manner in the country. According to the latest release of PIB, I4C through its vertical National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit (NCTAU) last week identified and curbed more than 100 websites involved in organized investment-work based-part time job fraud. Recommended. After this the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology blocked these websites under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The effect of the awareness campaign of the central government is also visible on the people.

It has been revealed that these websites are operated by foreign agents. Illicit funds obtained through economic fraud were found being extensively laundered outside India using digital advertising, chat messengers, mules and rented accounts, card networks, crypto currency, foreign ATM withdrawals and international fintech companies. Has gone. The effect of the awareness campaign of the Central Government is that common people are now making complaints through 1930 helpline and NCRP. These criminals, through foreign advertisers, place targeted digital advertisements on platforms like Google and Meta using key words like job at home, how to earn from home, etc. in multiple languages. Their targets are mostly retired employees, women and unemployed youth looking for part-time jobs.

On clicking such advertisements, an agent using WhatsApp and Telegram initiates a conversation with the potential victim, convincing him to perform certain actions such as liking and subscribing to videos, rating maps, etc. On completion of the work, such a victim is initially given some commission and is asked to invest more to get more profit in return for the work given. After gaining trust, when the person deposits a large amount, the deposit is confiscated and thus the person is cheated.

The Central Government advises to take a careful decision before investing in such high commission paying online schemes sponsored on the Internet. If any unknown person contacts you on WhatsApp and Telegram, avoid doing financial transactions with him without proper verification. Properly verify the receiver name mentioned in the UPI app. If the recipient is a random person, it may be a Mule account and their scheme may be fraudulent. Similarly, also check the source from where the initial commission is being received. Citizens should avoid transacting with unknown accounts, as these may be involved in money laundering and terror financing.
