The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has released the official notification for Scientist B (Non-Medical) Recruitment 2026. This recruitment is announced under Advt. No. 377/2025. A total of 27 Scientist B posts will be filled through an online examination and interview.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with Master’s, M.E., or M.Tech degrees in Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, or Pharmacology to work with India’s top medical research organization.

📍 Posting Location: Delhi (NCR) and any of the 28 ICMR Institutes/Centres across India.

Eligibility Criteria for ICMR Scientist B

Educational Qualification

Scientist B (Non-Medical):

• Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from a recognized university

Scientist B (IT / Computer Science):

• M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science
  OR

• M.E./M.Tech/MCA/B.E./B.Tech in CS/IT with Ph.D.

Scientist B (Pharmacology):

• Master’s Degree in Pharmacy (Pharmacology)
  OR

• Pharm-D degree recognized by UGC/PCI

👉 All qualifications must be completed on or before 01 March 2026.

Age Limit (As on 01/03/2026)

• Maximum Age: 35 Years

Age Relaxation

• SC / ST: 5 Years

• OBC: 3 Years

• PwBD: 10 Years

• PwBD + OBC: 13 Years

• PwBD + SC/ST: 15 Years

• Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years

• Central Govt. Employees:

  • General: 5 Years

  • OBC: 8 Years

  • SC/ST: 10 Years (Minimum 3 years service required)

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process has two stages:

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

• Mode: Online

• Type: Objective

• Total Questions: 100

• Total Marks: 100

• Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer

• Language: English only

Qualifying Marks:

• General: 50%

• SC/ST/PwBD: 45%
